As a parent, I read through the copy I received and decided not to let my upper primary school daughter read it on her own. The book contained topics that might not be appropriate for children to read on their own, especially when the topics were not addressed well. I have given my feedback directly to ODB but did not receive a response from them.

Dear Ruth, thank you for your comments and feedback. We have taken it most seriously and have sought feedback from other parents. Many have told us that they appreciate the coverage of these sensitive issues. As mentioned in an earlier response to this feedback, even though such issues can be challenging, it gives some parents the opportunity to raise them with their children for discussion. Some have said that they would share the book with their kids only when it’s more age-appropriate. We are aware that different families have different approaches towards the discussion and handling of such issues, and parents are in the best position to decide when and how to engage their children on such matters. We appreciate your feedback.

Relevant stories for children of these ages and this age! But as every child is different, I would encourage the parents to read it on their own first before reading with the children or guiding the children which ones to focus one. 😍

I would like to take this opportunity to tell the children that we care for them
