Dear God, I’m Tired of Waiting

“I thought that I would get married by 27 and have my first child before 30. But here I am at 35, with no potential partner in sight. I’ve prayed so hard and waited so long.

“I’m tired of waiting.”

I nodded along as Elaine spoke. I’ve been there too, my friend.

And I’ve also told God, I’m tired of waiting.

God uses our waiting not only to refine our faith, but also to develop our character. Through waiting, we develop the quieter virtues—submission, humility, patience, joyful endurance, persistence in doing good.
